Volume I: [1862](Acceptable) Cover contains stains and heavy wear along joints and spine. The pack joint of spine is completely torn and fraying at the top. Front cover has almost separated and hanging on by a thread. Back cover also is showing separation but still attached. Front endpage to title page is loose from binding. The Rest of the pages and binding are in good shape.

Volume II: [1863](Acceptable) Back cover has completely separated. Front cover contains heavy wear and partial separations

Volume III: [1863] (Acceptable) Large tear on front joint. Back joint is scotched taped on the outside and inside of book. Page 165/166 and Feet of Arachnidae plate is loose. The rest of the pages and binding are in good shape.

Volume V: [1864] (Good) Cover contains moderate wear and some stains. inside front joint shows heavy wear. Front endpage is becoming loose. The Rest of the pages and binding are in good shape.

Volume VII: [1865] (Good) Cover shows moderate wear including some staining and scuffs. Inside joint shows above normal wear but still attached. Pages and Binding are in good shape.

Volume VIII: [1866] (Good) Cover shows minor wear including some staining and scuffs. Pages and Binding are in good shape.

Volume IX: [1866] (Acceptable) Front cover has detached and is held on by spine and contains stains. Spine contains heavy tear. Title page is loose.

Volume X: [1867] (Very Good) Cover contains minor wear including light stains and scuffs. Pages and binding are in great shape.

Volume XII: [1868] (Good) Cover contains moderate wear. Small tears along spine and edges. Pages from front endpage to page 2 are becoming loose from binding. The Rest of the pages and binding are in good shape.

Acceptable:
A book with obvious wear. May have minor damage but nothing that compromises the legibility or understanding of text. May contain heavy highlighting/underlining/notes. All significant defects will be noted. May contain previous owners name or marks from bookstore.

As is: 
Describes a book that is sufficiently worn. This copy may be soiled, scuffed, stained, or spotted and may have loose joints, hinges, pages, etc.
Any defects will be noted.
