Up for sale here is this recap kit for a pair of Advent "Original Large Advent" speakers, also known as OLAs. These are the ones with the big Masonite rings on the woofers. This will let you completely recap two (2) of these Advent speakers. These are brand new Supertech MPT (metallized polypropylene film) capacitors, which are super-high-quality and will sound nice and clear.
There are THREE different crossover designs for the Original Large Advents. Revision 0 uses one 8 uf and one 16 uf cap per speaker (two of each total). Revision 1 uses two 16 uf caps per speaker (four total). Revision 2 uses one 8 uf and one 16 uf per speaker (two of each total). This listing is set up so you can select whichever set of caps you need. You will need to open up your speakers to check the crossover caps before you order. I would suggest opening both speakers, just in case one has a different crossover than the other.
These are fairly easy to install as long as you know what you're doing. You will need a decent soldering iron, solder, a Philips screwdriver, wire cutters, and a hot glue gun or rubber cement to aid in mounting the caps. The bodies of the 8 uf caps are about 1.75" long, and the 16 uf caps are about 2.25" long. They are larger than the old caps because they are much higher quality. Please see my pictures for details.
