VINTAGE 1956 HANDMADE SOLID WOODEN CHILDREN'S FOLDING CHAIR STEP STOOL STEP UP
This is in good condition given the age. Very sturdily built, it has stood the test of time. There is wear commensurate with age. Please see all photos and ask if in doubt.
Jim's dad made this for him for his 3rd birthday in 1956. He had seen one in a magazine and decided he could build one cheaper and sturdier than what was shown in the magazine.
The wood he had in his workshop. See photo 10 to see the piece of wood that already had a cut-out when he used it.
He varnished it but most of the varnish is gone.
It came out of storage in the early 1980s so our children could use it. It helped them be more independent especially at the bathroom sink.
I wanted to paint it red but the children wanted to keep it just like Grandpa made it. However, the new owner could paint it to coordinate with their decor.
Jim replaced the dowel in the front.
Dimensions: 13 1/4" x 16 3/4" x 13 1/2" chair height
