MWC's original watches in this range were the 12/24 hour dial format US pattern watches. These watches, still in production today, remain virtually identical to those used by American troops during the Vietnam War in the 1960s and early 1970s. The final image showcases one of these original watches, which inspired various modern variations that MWC continues to produce.

The European pattern variants emerged due to frequent inquiries from dealers and customers requesting a similar model to the US watches but with a UK/European dial pattern. Consequently, MWC introduced a watch based on a British dial design from the early 1970s. These watches retain the plexiglass acrylic crystal, a material used on both American and UK watches in the 1960s and 70s. Some UK military watches still utilize acrylic crystals today.

Although the modern watches look similar to the 1960s model shown in the final image, the original was made of plastic, deemed disposable by the US military. Continuing to make them in plastic would result in the same shortcomings as the originals. About 15 years ago, MWC's design team decided to rethink the watch completely. While maintaining the original appearance, weight, and feel, they switched to an all-metal construction. This upgrade to a metal case significantly improved the watches' durability and overall quality.
