The lower exterior looks like snake or lizard skin.

No major damages or repairs.  These are nice pre-owned, well taken care of boots. They show minimal signs of general use, wear, age, blemishes, dust, and dirt.  I have applied a generous amount of leather conditioning oil to them.  The leather is soft and plyable, but they still stand up on their own.
