Original transitional ears cutout helmet, made in the 1920's. It has the national emblem on one side & the remains of the Heer eagle on the other. The liner & chin strap are original to the helmet.
This helmet was developed both to increas the availablity of this helmet type but also to allow an increase in available sizes. Like many transitional helmets it was repainted with rough texture paint then reissued to Wehrmacht troops in 1940.
