Offered is an amazing modernist glass sculpture done in the ancient "Cycladic" style that is an excellent example of the classic "Stargazer" theme. This one-piece glass sculpture is 10.75" tall and the upturned face is approximately 4" X 6.5" and it is on top of a 4" X 4" base. It is quite heavy ay 14.5 lbs has a very unusual feature: it was signed by two different artists! On the bottom of the 4" base there appear to be two signatures which I have tried to capture in the photos. There has been much un-explained free-hand grinding around the base which has obliterated almost all of the left-hand signature and all that remains of the right-hand signature is "harvey ...idler". Although interesting, the partial "signatures" offer me no clue as to the artists who created this piece. The "stargazer" theme has been popular since antiquity, and this is one of the most powerful examples that you will ever find.
