  • Beschreibung: Der rückseitigen Widmung zufolge handelt es sich bei dem Portraitierten um C. Müller, der seine Carte de Visite an Ferdinand Blum weitergegeben hat. Die Fotografie stammt aus der Visitenkartensammlung des Ferdinand Blums (1865 - 1959), der Direktor des Biologischen Instituts in Frankfurt am Main war. Er forschte über Physiologie und Endokrinologie, besonders der Nebennieren, der Bauchspeicheldrüse und der Schilddrüse. Er entdeckte die blutzuckersteigernde Wirkung des Adrenalins. 1939 flüchtete er in die Schweiz.

  • Description: According to the dedication on the reverse, the person portrayed is C. Müller, who passed on his Carte de Visite to Ferdinand Blum. The photograph comes from the business card collection of Ferdinand Blum (1865 - 1959), who was director of the Biological Institute in Frankfurt am Main. He researched physiology and endocrinology, especially of the adrenal glands, the pancreas and the thyroid gland. He discovered the blood sugar-increasing effect of adrenalin. In 1939 he fled to Switzerland.
