• Beschreibung: Franquinet war Maler und Lithograph. Er verließ 1815 Maastricht, um in Frankfurt zu arbeiten. Dort wurde er von der Zunft ausgewiesen und machte sich in Paris ansässig. 1832-36 stellte er in der British Institution und in der Royal Academy, London aus. Von London ging er nach Amerika. Er malte historische Genreszenen und Porträts und veröffentlichte mit Chabert das renommierte Werk: "Galerie des Peintres" mit lithographischen Reproduktionen nach Le Brun, Poussin usw.

• Description: Franquinet was a painter and lithographer. He left Maastricht in 1815 to work in Frankfurt. There he was expelled from the guild and settled in Paris. In 1832-36 he exhibited at the British Institution and the Royal Academy, London. From London he went to America. He painted historical genre scenes and portraits and, together with Chabert, published the renowned work: "Galerie des Peintres" with lithographic reproductions after Le Brun, Poussin, etc.
