  • This book may possibly related to R. H. Tawney (1880-1962) English economic historian, social critic, ethical socialist, Christian socialist, and important proponent of adult education. This book was acquired from the estate of John Papworth (vicar and activist) who developed a close relationship with R. H. Tawney as members of the Labour Party. On returning to the UK from India as a young boy, his family moved around the UK including a stay in Tunbridge near Park House School in Southborough.
