  • Beschreibung: Kupferstich von Léon Boisson, unter der Darstellung signiert und betitelt: "L. Boisson del. et sc. Alexandre Calame". Alexandre Calame sitzt auf einem Stuhl, seine rechte Hand liegt an seiner Weste, die linke Hand auf einem Tisch. Über der Weste trägt er eine Jacke mit Samtkragen, an der linken Hand einen auffälig starken Ring. Seine feinen Haare sind nach hinten gekämmt, der Schnurrbart bedeckt seine Oberlippe. Alexandre Calame (1810 - 1864) war schweizer Maler. Mit seinen Landschaftsbildern, die vor allem die Schweizer Alpen zeigen, wurde Calame schnell berühmt. Besonders in Deutschland waren seine Bilder beliebt. Léon Boisson (1854 - 1941) war französischer Kupferstecher und Radierer. Bei Louis-Pierre Henriquel war Boisson in die Lehre gegangen, 1876 gewann er den Rompreis. Er reproduzierte sehr erfolgreich Werke von Raffael, da Vinci, Jean Etienne Liotard, Tizian und Bartolomé Esteban Murillo.

  • Description: Engraving by Léon Boisson, signed and titled below the image: "L. Boisson del. et sc. Alexandre Calame". Alexandre Calame is sitting on a chair, his right hand resting on his waistcoat, his left hand on a table. Over his waistcoat he wears a jacket with a velvet collar, and on his left hand he wears a ring with a strong catch. His fine hair is combed back, his moustache covers his upper lip. Alexandre Calame (1810 - 1864) was a Swiss painter. Calame quickly became famous for his landscape paintings, which mainly show the Swiss Alps. His paintings were particularly popular in Germany. Léon Boisson (1854 - 1941) was a French engraver and etcher. Boisson was apprenticed to Louis-Pierre Henriquel and won the Rome Prize in 1876. He very successfully reproduced works by Raphael, da Vinci, Jean Etienne Liotard, Titian and Bartolomé Esteban Murillo.
