Oberhalb mit dem Namen beschriftet, unterhalb mit einem Vers von J. Zeeus, darunter links und rechts signiert: "P de Roning pinx" und "P v Gansi Sculps.".

  • Description: Joost van den Vondel is considered, along with Gerbrand A. Bredero and Pieter Corneliszoon Hooft, the most important poet of the Dutch Golden Age. Inscribed above with the name, below with a verse by J. Zeeus, signed below left and right: "P de Roning pinx" and "P v Gansi Sculps.".
