• Beschreibung: Der Staatsminister Hertzberg gilt als Vertreter der Aufklärung. In seinen 1780 und 1793 an den Gedenktagen der Preußischen Akademie der Wissenschaften gehaltenen berühmten Reden charakterisierte er die preußische Monarchie als ‚Vernunftstaat‘, in dem unter der Herrschaft der Gesetze die bürgerliche Freiheit bestmöglich gesichert sei.

• Date: 18th century


• Description: The Minister of State Hertzberg is considered a representative of the Enlightenment. In his famous speeches delivered at the commemorative days of the Prussian Academy of Sciences in 1780 and 1793, he characterised the Prussian monarchy as a 'state of reason' in which civil liberty was secured in the best possible way under the rule of law.

• Condition: Good condition. The paper has discoloured slightly due to its age and is lightly stained in places. With a barely perceptible box pleat along the left margin.
