to transport a fuse for a 

Luftwaffe aircraft's bomb.

In superb, near mint condition, found in Northern France

and measuring approx. 5" tall and  2.75"

at the unscrew-able base,

the top bears the manufacturer's stamps and the date

1941

The large screw-end has on the top

2L 

and also bears on the lid's underside the same matching mark

along with the manufacturer's 3 letter code
