Tagua nuts are harvested from a palm tree that only grows in South American rain forests. A natural replacement for elephant ivory, once dried it can be used for buttons, umbrella and cane handles, dice, dominoes and much more. It easily accepts vegetable dyes to make vibrantly colored artistic jewelry. This necklace is made entirely from the Tagua nuts. Vintage and hand-crafted. Approx. 30" long, "hook and eye" style closure.
