Yes. Surfaces must be clean, dry, grease-free, oil-free and old gasket material removed as required. Be prepared to join or connect the surfaces as soon as the gasket material is applied.
Do I need to use a primer before applying the sealants?
No. Primer is not required.
Can the sealants be used for non-automotive applications?
Silicone sealants can be used on many non-automotive applications. Read product instructions, however, because some products are not intended for use as engine gaskets.
Are there any vehicle components I should never use silicone sealants on?
Yes, silicone sealants must not be used for engine or transmission applications.
