DESCRIPTION:

1 antique 19th Century Sheffield Exhibition/Salesman Sample Bowie knife.  This large and unique antique Sheffield knife would make an important addition to any collection.  


An amazing knife--and so very rare.  This knife was made by a Sheffield cutler as an exhibition knife to show the cutler's talent.  Or it was made as a salesman sample for use when calling on clients.  Instead of carrying four different Bowie knives, the salesman could carry this one knife that shows the various blade options available to the customer.  



This large knife measures 13 3/4".  The handle has a handle made of dark horn.  

                          

                                          

CONDITION:
This 19th century Sheffield exhibition/salesman sample Bowie knife is in exceptional condition.  The blade has scattered minor surface staining.  The guard is tight, and the handle is excellent.
