For sale is this lot of TWO World War II-era food ration points tokens issued by the Office of Price Administration (OPA). The lot includes one red XU token and one blue YY token. American families kept and exchanged these tokens during the food shortages experienced due to the war effort. They were issued essentially as "change" on ration coupons, and were marked with various letter combinations.

Made of vulcanized fiber, these tokens each measure about 16mm across and weigh about 1g (together) - they are extremely light. Their condition is very good - the red token has a bit of spotting and appears a little more handled. The blue token is remarkably clean and fresh.

See the photos for details. I took some with a 10x triplet loupe and my cellphone so you can see fine details.

This came from the 1972 estate of my late great aunt, who owned an antique shop in Avilla, Indiana. She was a keen collector of coins, banknotes and exonumia like this.
