Elly Ameling Baldwin Schubert Lieder Vol. 1 & 2 2SACD TOWER RECORDS

Product introduction

90th anniversary of Amering's birth. Two types of albums recorded in '73 and '75, which were once released as 24-bit reprints of CDs, are compiled into a two-disc set. One of Amering's most famous albums! For this release, the latest reprint from the original analog master tape in the home country. Excellent recording by the former PHILIPS label

Includes two Schubert recordings that can be said to be the true value of Amering's German Lied. 16 original albums recorded in August 1973, including "In the Gloaming", recorded with Baldwin's piano accompaniment, on DISC 1, and "Gretchen at the Spinning Wheel", also accompanied by Baldwin in August 1975. 10 original albums including 10 songs will be placed on DISC2 and reprinted as a 2-disc SA-CD hybrid board. This combination is a compilation of 1 and 2 of the "Schubert Lieder", which was once released as a series of 24-bit digital mastering in the domestic edition of the PHILIPS era. This reprint takes advantage of the original album's concept (song selection/arrangement), and each disc has been completed in its first appearance. It will be released with a completely new preface commentary, commentary on each song, and lyrics translation (total 36 pages of commentary). It is a permanent preservation board.

Amering, who gained popularity in Japan, left many recordings on other than the PHILIPS label, but Schubert's song collection here is one of the most highly rated recordings among them. As a German Lieder singer, her delicate and lovely voice with moderately suppressed vibrato was widely supported by listeners as a standard until early music singing became popular. Of course, as the times progress and various interpretations are accepted, the orthodox German Lieder singing has been handed down for a long time. In particular, Ameling has many fans, and many people would like to hear its representative recordings with better sound quality. In this reprint, two representative Schubert albums of the analog era are recorded in the original form, and the latest original 2ch analog master tapes in the home country are produced by British CLASSIC SOUND, which has been involved in this project so far. After carefully preparing the condition, the mastering was performed with respect to the intentions of the production team, including the engineers at the time, so you can enjoy the highest sound quality at the moment. Please enjoy the famous performances and famous songs of the analog era. This is the first time SA-CD has been released from PHILIPS (now DECCA), although the PENTATONE label has released this track as an SA-CD before.

The condition of the original analog master tapes used in the reprint was in very good condition, leaving a clear sound reminiscent of those days. The recording by the old PHILIPS is also high level, and I am amazed that this quality was left in this era. On top of these materials, the mastering including the direct DSD conversion by British CLASSIC SOUND has increased with each time of this project, and the sound source this time is also one of the best in the series. I was. Enjoy the contrast between Ameling's clear and textured voice and the delicate sound of the piano. The tone is rich and stable, so I hope that the evaluation of each board will rise more than before.

In this reprint, we went back to the original analog master tape in our home country and digitized it with high sound quality. Not only this time, we used the top flat master, so we were able to get a very good presence. The texture and localization are surprisingly clear and clear, and the benefits of DSD are added to reproduce excellent sound quality that has never existed before. Upon production, the original analog master tapes in the home country were physically maintained and restored by former DECCA engineers at CLASSIC SOUND in the UK, and then directly converted to DSD for this series. Mastering work was done over time in a detailed process. On the SA-CD layer, you can enjoy high-definition master sound. The CD layer has also undergone the latest digitization and mastering, so it stands out from the sound quality of the conventional board. This series uses an original jacket design, and the 34-page commentary includes a new preface commentary (Japanese) by Mr. Junichi Kokudo, song commentary for all songs, and a Japanese translation of the lyrics.
