CONDITION:  Some chipped leaves and petals.

This porcelain basket was produced in Germany by Meissen between 1860 and 1910.  It has first quality crossed swords under glaze.  The basket is 10 1/4 inches long, 7 inches wide and  3 inches deep.  The basket is cut out or reticulated in a basket weave pattern.  The outside of this weave has molded rosette flowers in blue.  The handles are formed in the shape of branches and are hand applied.  Tiny encrusted flowers are attached to the handles.  The flower petals and leaves are individually formed by hand.  The interior of the basket has a large, colorful spray of summer flowers.  The rims are accented with gold.   #E367
