Trocadéro is a metro station located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris and takes its name from its unmistakable square. The name derives from the famous Battle of the Trocadero, an armed confrontation between France and Spain that took place in 1823. The station was inaugurated on October 2, 1900 and has served as the grand antechamber of the Eiffel Tower for over 100 years.
