Produced for the 2003 Homer Laughlin China Collector's Association annual conference. Only ten ever made! Marked on the reverse side with all of the information/documentation - including the signature of Joe Wells III.

The glaze is called “Ohara Kaki” - a saturated iron oxide glaze. The iron oxide crystals in the formulation give this glaze its “metallic” look. Absolutely Beautiful! The glaze was never used again - only on the 10 trivets. Developed by Mike Tkach, now a retired HLC Director of Ceramic Engineering. Once in a lifetime opportunity! There will only ever be a single #1 - there were only ten of these made - period.
