The uncluttered front panel of the TA-2000F belies its total flexibility. Eleven-step bass and treble controls calibrated in 2 dB increments may be Interposed in the circuit with selectable turnover frequencies or may be fully by-passed at the touch of a switch. Sharp cut-off (12 dB per octave) low-pass and high pass filters may be Introduced singly or simultaneously with the turn of a single knob. Stereo headphone level is continuously variable and the headphone jack can be used as an alternate feed to an auxiliary line amplifier. VU meter sensitivity is variable or may be adjusted to respond independently to microphone inputs. A separate microphone level control provides for optimum mixing of microphone source with other signal sources. A unique MODE switch provides every conceivable combination of monophonic and stereophonic interfacing.
The rear panel, in addition to its twenty-five input and output jacks (including a "center channel" jack with variable output), has five input level controls and a main output level selector switch to match the input requirements of any power amplifier. A separate impedance selector, associated with one of the phono input circuits provides for optimum matching of any cartridge including ultra-low level, low impedance cartridges.For these low-level settings, sensitivity of the phono preamplifier circuits is increased to 0.06 millivolts for full output—an overall gain of nearly 85 dB!
