The TPA3255 is a high-performance Class-D power amplifier chip with Class-D efficiency and circuitry capable of delivering true high-end sound quality. The device features an advanced integrated feedback design and proprietary high-speed gate driver error correction (PurePath™ Ultra HD). This technology enables the device to maintain ultra-low distortion across the entire audio frequency band while delivering flawless sound quality. The device operates in AD mode, can drive up to two 315W/4R loads and two 150W (unclipped power)/8R loads at a THD of 10%, and features a 2 VRMS analog input interface that supports interfacing with high-performance DACs (eg TI's PCM5242) seamless connection. In addition to excellent audio performance, the TPA3255 combines high power efficiency with ultra-low power stage idle losses (below 2.5W). This can be achieved with an 85mR MOSFET with an optimized gate driver scheme. Compared with traditional discrete implementations, this scheme can significantly reduce idle losses.
