In Asia, most of the countries not use the Western calendar years as official years. Instead, Japan uses each of the emperor's official name such as "Ping Chen" which show on the coin. The coin is 10 yen and produced on the 13th year of Ping Chen emperor's period.  No western years show on the coin at all.
