This is a bundle of TWO pieces of white, Chinese habotai silk.
The size is 85 x 50cm/33 x 19ins.
Habotai silk is very finely woven and these remnants have a momme weight of 8. This means it's a lightweight fabric, suitable for a selection of uses, including:
- crafting
- silk painting
- lining
- dolls clothes
- clothing
This silk is soft to the touch and has a nice sparkle or sheen to it. Silk threads are triangular, not round, and this is why they catch the light so well.
The remnants are what we have left over after making larger silk products. Each piece is clean and unmarked - except for the odd pencil cutting line here and there. There may be some light creasing too but this is easily cured by a quick iron.
Edges are either seamed or cut.
Each piece is actually a bit larger than the size shown - this gives you a good border to work with.
