Dynaco ST-70 tube amplifier with upgrades!

Ready to go plug and play sounds great!

    New ce manufacturing can cap 80-40-30-20

    New bias circuit resistors and caps - resistors are lower value to provide for more adjustment

    New choke

    New gold plated input jacks with wider spacing to accomodate larger modern plugs.

    Driver board is original for 7199 tubes with new capacitors.

This is one of the later style st-70s with a fiberglass green driver board, 3 hole cage mounting, and plastic insulation on the transformer leads.

    Chasssis is original and pits are visible with some patina. Chrome still has shine to it.

    The A470 and PA060 Transformers were cleaned and painted. These bells are painted gloss black.

   

    New stainless steel hardware installed on transformers. Main transformer has been isolated from chassis to prevent transfer of any vibration.

    New power switch.

    New mono/stereo switch

    New 5 way speaker binding posts

    New input jacks spaced for modern cables

    Selenium diode replaced with a silicon diode.

    Diodes installed at rectifier to protect from damage.

    An IEC power cord jack was installed so any performance cable can be used. I will include a standard power cable with the unit.

   Thermistor installed to limit startup current.

    Electro Harmonic EL34 power tubes are installed with GE 7199 as driver tubes. All test good. And sound great! 5AR4 rectifier tube tests excellent. I cannot identify the brand - there are no markings on it.

DEAD quiet.

NO hum.

NO sizzle.

NO hiss.

It includes the bottom cover with new rubber feet and a cage.

If you would like to see pictures of the bottom cover and the cage, please let me know. I can send them to you. They are both in nice condition and the cage is clean with the original brown paint.
