Inca Style weapon - Liwis or Boleadoras

This piece was made with Andean Black Stone and cow raw leather. The stones are coated with raw leather. During the Inca Culture this type of weapons were used during hand to hand battles.
This piece comes from the town of Colquemarca - Rural town near the city of Cusco peru.

Boleadoras; they were deadly when whirled from leather straps. Boleadoras were mostly used for catching prey. Most boleadoras had three strings, on each string there was a head usually made from obsidian or solid Andean stone.
