The Romania 1 Leu banknote is part of the 2005 issues. It is green, blue, and yellow in color and measures 120 x 62 mm. The obverse side shows the coat of arms, a flower as a registration device, gentian flowers (Gentiana asclepiadea), a BNR monogram, and Nicolae Lorga. The reverse side features a BNR monogram, the Crusader eagle with a cross in its beak, from the Vallachian coat of arms during the reign of Prince Constantin Brcoveanu, the Romanian Orthodox cathedral in Curtea de Arges, a flower, and a BNR monogram. This uncirculated banknote uses a simulated solid security thread and contains a shadow image watermark with a Nicolae Iorga and a BNR monogram design.
