The difference between a Starbucks JBM versus Amber, is the level of roasting. Starbucks dark roasts its beans to get consistency but in doing so they burn out the fruit tones. It leaves the drinker with two tones of spice and chocolate. On the other hand, Amber always medium roasts its coffees and consequently the drinker gets three distinct tones of fruit, spice and chocolate.
