Dilmah
Dilmah is a Sri Lankan brand of Ceylon tea, sold internationally.The company was founded in 1988 by Merrill J Fernando. The name Dilmah was chosen by combining the first names of Fernando's sons Dilhan and Malik. It is available in over 100 countries, including Estonia, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Lithuania, Malaysia, Singapore, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Hungary, Canada, Chile, Argentina, Portugal, South Africa, Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Taiwan and New Zealand. In 2009 it was considered that Dilmah was the sixth-largest tea brand in the world.
About Dilmah pure Ceylon flavored Black Tea
Picked from the Craighead Estate situated in Sri Lanka’s hill country, this exclusive Single Estate Fine Ceylon Pekoe tea is only available in 10 caddies across the world. Its soft, floral and mildly sweet taste combined with a creamy texture and complex aftertaste are reminiscent of the characteristics of a sublime oolong and a superlative high grown black tea. Each fine porcelain Moment of Peace tea caddy comes filled with 70g of this artisanal tea, brewing 35 cups of a golden hued, luxurious yet light Ceylon tea experience. One limited edition caddy will be presented at Love for Sri Lanka, an initiative by Chef Peter Kuruvita and Eresha De Zoysa with the support of the Dilmah Family to raise funds for UNICEF. All proceeds from the auction will be utilized to raise funds for the economic crisis prevailing in Sri Lanka affecting 2.3 million children due to food, medicine & essential supplies shortages. This was kindly donated by Dilmah.
Benefits of Dilmah pure Ceylon flavored Black Tea
Most of the health benefits of tea, including strengthening your immune system and immune response, is due to the polyphenols and theanine present in the tea plant Camellia sinensis. The fresh, tender shoots of tea contain significantly high amounts of polyphenols in comparison to other plants.
How to use
For a “NORMAL BREW” USE 2.5g of tea or one tea bag for 200 ml water and brew the tea for 3 minutes. This is the basic tea strength guide.
