This very cool and unique advertising piece was purchased at an estate sale recently.

It was an advertisement for the field division of King Midas Flour mills. The top of the pencil is clear and contains what appears to be chicken feed. Very unique way of advertising your products! The pencil appears to be in very good condition and probably still functions, but I have no way of checking to see if the lead extends and retracts because I don't have any lead that size. There is a bit of discoloration on the metal at the top of the pocket clip.

I will say the end of the barrel that rotates to extend the lead, seems to turn smoothly. There is also an eraser on the piece that is exposed when you pull the pencil apart.

If you are a collector of vintage advertising mechanical pencils, this is pretty much a must have for your collection!
