Jack Davis (of Mad Magazine) print of Civil War General Robert E Lee. Produced in the 1960s by Raleigh Fabrics. The black linework was silkscreened on watercolor paper, and Raleigh Fabrics employees watercolored them following Davis' instructions. They were sold mail-order through ads in House Beautiful and Southern Living. According to Travers Green, head of Raleigh Fabrics, they sold well. Raleigh also offered wallpaper and fabric with the same artwork. This framed print measures 25 in x 11 inches. The frame is wood that has been painted black. The frame does exhibit signs of wear, including scratches. The backing appears to be original, but is in pretty bad condition with multiple tears, and a little bit of staining. Custom framer stamp on the rear. This print could probably stand to be reframed, as there is some slight discoloration and dust beneath the glass. Colors are very vibrant. Will package carefully and ship quickly.
