e Shelta Extra Large Wheeled resin base is a great way to create a mobile umbrella out of your Shelta Savannah, San Remo, and Regis. Simply remove the protective plug from the hole on the top of the base and insert the umbrella crank handle. Wind the handle clockwise at least 3 times to engage the wheels. You can now carefully move the umbrella and umbrella base to the new location. Once it is where you want it, wind the handle anti-clockwise at least 3 times to retract the wheels.
Important Note: The wheels on this base are castors. That means that the base works best on smooth surfaces. It does not work well on rough or uneven surfaces and is not recommended for use where the ground is rough or sloping.
The size of the Extra Large Wheeled Resin Base is 89.6cm x 89.6cm x 24cm high
The unfilled weight is around 35kgs and when filled it can weigh up to 140kgs. We recommend 5 x 20kg bags of blue metal to fill the base and 10-20kgs of sand (add sand in last). Blue metal or small gravel is available at low cost from the larger hardware stores or landscaping supply outlets. Note, this base comes empty.
