The program and lineup have very light wear and are in very nice condition.  There is a small smudge on the top right of the cover, and there is very light fading along the spine.  The lineup has a couple of rough edges, but like the program, there is no writing or creasing.  Numerous pictures were taken to assist with the condition and content of the program and lineup.

The fifth annual World 600 was held as Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 24, 1964.  Jimmy Pardue sat on the pole in the #54 Plymouth with a speed of 144.346.  He led the field of 44 to the start in front of 66,311 people.

The race started off tragically.  On the seventh lap, the cars of Junior Johnson and Ned Jarrett got together and spun.  Fireball Roberts tried to miss the spinning cars and spun backward into the concrete wall, and his car exploded on impact.  Roberts was severely burned and would succumb to his injuries on July 2nd.

Jim Paschal would win the race by four laps in the #41 Petty Engineering Plymouth, followed by his teammate, Richard Petty.  Rex White, Fred Lorenzen and Billy Wade would round out the top 5.  Richard Petty left this race as the point leader.
