Company History, credit to The Old Stuff website: "Porzellanfabrik Hermann Ohme was established in 1882 in Nieder-Salzbrunn (today Polish Szczawienko), located in German region Silesia. This factory produced two types of porcelain called clear glaze and Old Ivory [which is a matte finish]. The clear glaze products were made for European and America markets. The factory was constantly increasing production for exports markets. The cause of the collapse of the firm owned in 1913 by Hermann Ohme, E.M. Bauer and Hermann Ohme jr. was the World Financial Crisis. As financial markets collapsed, the company, which income was based only on exports was forced to file for bankruptcy in 1930." Because of the popularity of this firm, today there is a collector's "Society for Old Ivory and Ohme Porcelains (SOIOP)". According to their research "The Old Ivory line is believed to have been produced exclusively for the American market. Today this porcelain is highly sought after by dealers and collectors." Additional resources, including several books, exist about Ohme Porcelain.

Maker's Marks: Some pieces display just one mark, whereas the plate has three printed marks, plus an impressed number '294' and the hand written number '19'. The other marks include a printed Green and Red 'OHME SILESIA' mark with a Crown and stylized 'O H' letters. This mark was often used in addition to other marks, from ca. 1908 until 1920. A second printed mark is a Green Crown and stylized 'O H' letters with 'SILESIA' below; this mark was used from ca. 1900 until 1920. The final printed mark, is a Red 'OLD IVORY XI' mark with scrolls. This would indicate the pattern and glaze type. Additional pieces may have 'CLARION.'  printed, which is the mold shape of these pieces.
