2 genuine, very rare Royal Worcester William Ricketts (1862-1950) watercolour paintings

Wow they are so stunning and beautiful in the flesh!

These are two very rare watercolours on paper laid on board by the highly regarded Royal Worcester Ceramics artist, William Ricketts (1862-1950). The paintings depict fruit and flowers and are both signed 'W. Ricketts'. (to differentiate from his ceramics signature of 'Ricketts').

The watercolours are in a round gold mount with a black edging to the circle. There is some bubbling to the surface of the paper of one of the gold mounts but this does not affect the painting in any way (see photos). The over mats are stuck down to the backing board so you can't remove them.

The signature is genuine (I have compared it to know examples of his watercolour work online) and I have examined them under the loop and they are real watercolours.

William Ricketts was one of the most highly regarded Royal Worcester fruit painters of his time. He was also a skilled water-colourist and his work was exhibited at the Royal Academy

These come unframed. Size of the watercolours are 93 mm and 95 mm diameter

Size of the mounts are 152 mm square
