Vintage Copper Helium for the Space Age Globe Bookends; National Helium Corporation 1963

Explore your inner Flash Gordon with these historically significant "Helium for the Space Age" Bookends.. Given to the guests for the opening ceremonies of the National Helium Corporation claiming to be the largest cryogenic unit in the world in 1963. Senator Bob Dole was an Honorary Dignitary in attendance. The products produced were an important source of coolant for Space Craft exploration and strategic missile defense. Shown is a missile crossing the globe. One bookend’s bottom pad is missing. Please look at the pictures as they are part of the description.

Made of heavy metal.  Has a copper color and may be made of copper.

Excellent vintage condition.  Nice copper patina.  One of the bookends is missing the felt pad underneath the bookend.  See photos of actual bookends.
