Vintage late 1930s/early 1940s Old Hollywood glamour gown, in a nude rayon crepe.

Cut on the bias, this clinging dress is designed to skim the figure, and features a bejewelled collar, with brass rhinestone studs, in the shape of inverted pineapples, or crowns. The same studs are scattered on the bodice, front and back. Seaming, and rhinestone placement, are designed to emphasise and flatter the bust, and really, the whole figure, giving the dress a Grecian look.

Dress closes with 2 hook and eyes at back neck, and one hook and eye and two press studs further down, beneath the keyhole feature.

No makers label.

Shown unpinned on a 34" bust, 26" waist, 35" hip mannequin, for reference.

Measurements taken flat, and doubled where necessary; though there is some more room beyond these given in the bust and waist, the dress is intended to have a drapey, figure skimming fit, so best to go by the hip measurement.

Bust: 38"
Waist: 28"
Hip: 36"
Length: 54"

Dress is a little wounded, but is still wearable, and presents, on the whole, beautifully. Some studs and/or rhinestones are missing from the collar and bodice, and most notably, there are a couple of marks on the bodice, and larger ones along the hem of the gown (photos 9 and 10) though aren't super noticeable owing to their colour and the colour of the gown. Seam separation at back beneath keyhole, but this looks intentional. Belt loops, but no belt, and one loop needs restitching. I've attempted to photograph all of these flaws carefully. Sold as is.
