Design Information

 The installation of the new power supply board takes about 10 minutes.  

New features and improvements:

5V ADJUSTABLE Power Supply, very important, the original power supply was adjustable with a pot, which over time can be unreliable, and if it fails, the power supply could actually go to a high voltage and damage other boards in your machine. Our power supply has fix resistors with switches to adjust the voltage, much more reliable and stable.

Our supply is adjustable from 5.0V to 5.6V, why is this important? Did you install a new 5V fixed voltage power supply and are still having CPU resests and funny machine behavior, could be that new non-adjustable power supply.

Older machines and even machines with new CPU and other boards with lots of LEDs can have the same problem. The problem is long wire runs, lots of connectors, and long paths of traces on the PCBs can have enough resistance to lower the voltage by the time it reaches all the 5V points in your machine, causing low voltage points that can cause CPU resets and chips to not function correctly.  You need to measure voltages at many points and boards in your machine to ensure you are getting 5V to all points, anything less can cause problems. So with our board, just flip a few switches if you have low voltage points, problem solved.

All new components, not 30 years old! Today's components are higher quality and more reliable. These new boards will last a lot longer than old reconditioned, retested, removed from old machines, or new old stock boards. 

Extra ground wire connection, the old Gottlieb boards did not have a very good ground scheme, we have added the additional ground that is needed to connect to chassis ground. This provides additional protection and stability.
