Rare, matte black Orecast cast iron 2-piece saucepan set made in Finland by Dansk circa1960's and designed by the iconic Danish designer, Jens Quistgaard. The top piece of the set can be used as a lid with the larger sauce pan, or on its own, as a tiny sauce pan. This unusual set has reinforced, split wooden handle, and is made of solid cast iron with a thick coating of matte black enamel on the exterior and glossy white enamel on the interior. Marked in an indented square "Dansk Designs Finland IHQ" on the base (though hard to read with the thick enameling on it).

Unit Assembled Together Measures Approximately 6 inches Tall and 12 inches Long (Incl. handle)
Each pot has a diameter of 6 inches
Approximate Volume of Bottom Pan = 1 Qt.
Approximate Volume of Lid/Top Pan = 1 Pt.

Overall, the set is in very good vintage condition, and shows its use and age; its flaws do not detract from its overall integrity, utility and beauty as an object.

Exterior: There are some chips to the top edges on the exterior of the pans, but it's not really distracting. The matte black finish on the exterior has some scuffs. There are some minute chips on the top outer lip of both pans. The dark wooden handles are very smooth and sturdy and have some dark spots in the grains commensurate with age and use. Interior: The white enameled surface has become darker with use and age, and there are light crazing marks to the inside of the bottom pan which is normal when heat is applied over time to cast iron/enamel surfaces. There are also some chips to the enamel inside both pans.
