It's rare to find one of these coveted Japanese vintage toys in such great condition. He's been extremely well taken care of.

This Vintage Daishin Musical Jolly Chimp will clap his cymbals and make you smile. Push down on the center of his head, and he will make his angry creepy screeching noise and show his teeth. He turns into psycho monkey. After a few seconds, he goes right back to his happy cymbal clapping. 

Another video shows him needing a pat on the back. He is supposed to resume clapping on his own like this one. Also you can tell the true vintage monkeys from their brown feet and hands.

Please note as others have described, the toys of that generation sometimes have a known glitchy quality to the on/off switch. Not sure how to describe it, but if you have other toys of that era you know what it is. Occasionally it doesn't click right, and then turns on. Again, feel free to ask any questions.
