  • Beschreibung: Der in Altona geborene Künstler Max Stobbe war um die Jahrhundertwende bis zur Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts aktiv und widmete sich vor allem realistischen Szenen des Alltags in seiner Heimatstadt Hamburg. Er hielt in seinen Zeichnungen zudem zahlreiche Straßenzüge und Gassen Hamburgs fest, die spätestens in den Wirren des Krieges zerstört wurden und so wie sie in Stobbes Zeichnungen zu sehen sind nicht mehr existieren. Die Ansichten des Hamburger Gängeviertels sind dabei von besonderem Interesse, da dieses im Rahmen der modernen Stadtplanung bis in die 1960er Jahre vollständig abgerissen wurde.

  • Description: The artist Max Stobbe, who was born in Altona, was active around the turn of the century until the middle of the 20th century and devoted himself primarily to realistic scenes of everyday life in his home city of Hamburg. He also captured in his drawings numerous streets and alleys of Hamburg that were destroyed at the latest in the turmoil of the war and no longer exist as they can be seen in Stobbe's drawings. The views of Hamburg's Gängeviertel are of particular interest, as this was completely demolished in the course of modern urban planning until the 1960s.

  • Condition: Good condition. There is a marginal tear at the top right and at the bottom. Along the lower edge of the sheet there are minimal bump marks and a short marginal tear. Slightly stained at upper left. The edges are partly untrimmed.
