  • Beschreibung: Auf dem Getreidefeld haben sich ein Landarbeiter und seine Frau für ein Schäferstündchen zurückgezogen. Sie liegen im Getreide. Im Hintergrund wird mit der Sense das Korn geerntet. Links unten in der Darstellung signiert mit "Lemagny". Paul Pierre Lemagny wuchs in Lothringen, Picardie und Normandie auf. Er war Schüler des Bildhauers Elie Raset und Kupferstechers Adolphe Crauk. In seinen späten Jahren setzte er sich mit dem Gedankengut des Philosophen Pierre Teilhard de Chardin auseinander.

  • Description: In the grain field, a farm labourer and his wife have retired for a shepherding session. They are lying in the grain. In the background the grain is being harvested with a scythe. Signed "Lemagny" at the bottom left of the image. Paul Pierre Lemagny grew up in Lorraine, Picardy and Normandy. He was a pupil of the sculptor Elie Raset and the engraver Adolphe Crauk. In his later years, he explored the ideas of the philosopher Pierre Teilhard de Chardin.
