This is an antique mourning picture pendant or locket. Made circa 1880 the pendant is made of silver plated copper although the silver plating has largely worn away. The outer is etched with a leaf design and glass or paste stones. It has a capacity for 2 photos, mementos or pictures . Generally good condition just dents to the inside frames. Queen Victoria made mourning jewellery popular by remaining in mourning for Prince Albert for several years.
