There are many other cataract treating eye drops available that also contain the active ingredient N-Acetyl-Carnosine (abbreviated to NAC - see below for more details) like Cataract Clear does. However, Cataract Clear is different in that;
- Cataract Clear is available in two strengths so you have a choice on which is best for your needs. There is Cataract Clear 2% NAC Ultra and Cataract Clear 4% NAC XTRAMAX. Most other N.A.C. based eye drop products contain just 1% of the active ingredient N.A.C., not enough in our opinion as the more N.A.C. you can get to the eye in each drop then the quicker and more effective the break down of the cataract will be. Any reported problems?
The active ingredient N-Acetyl-Carnosine (NAC) is what actually treats cataracts. A minority of people have reported a noticeable sting (or burn) which is rated as being slight to moderate to begin with but that reduces or stops after using such eye drops for a while.
WHY THE STING? We believe the initial sting is only felt by some people/pets whose eyes are not healthy to begin with.
WHY DOES THE STING REDUCE OR STOP? N-Acetyl-Carnosine based eye drops treat cataracts but ALSO improve the overall health of the eyes so with use, unhealthy eyes that sting to begin with become healthier so the sting reduces or stops.

What is N-Acetyl-Carnosine?

How do Cataract Clear eye drops work?
Let?s look very briefly at the problem first - Cataracts.
Over time, advanced glycation products form in the eyes. These semi-opaque particles cloud the lens of the eye. Glycation is defined as the combining of protein and/or fat molecules with sugar. Someone who is diabetic is therefore more prone to get cataracts. These protein/fat/sugar particles remain in the lens of the eye, as the body cannot dispose of them.
This is where the Cataract Clear drops come into play. As mentioned before. the active ingredient in the drops is called N-Acetyl-Carnosine. This particular form of carnosine is able to penetrate the porous lens of the eye and attach itself to the protein/fat/sugar particles known as cataracts and in simple terms creates a "new particle" in a form that the body can expel from the eye. These "new particles" then detach from the eye lens and leave the eye through its surface which are automatically removed from the eye by blinking and teardrops.
Is there any evidence that eye

Yes. Apart from wonderful customer reviews on our website (search using our business name) and great feedback on our ebay site, clinical trials in both Russia and China have shown that the topical application of N-Acetyl-Carnosine based eye drops reduced cataracts in almost all cases. Over their six months trial period both glare sensitivity and visual acuity improved and lens opacity (the cloudy part of cataracts) went down. The group being treated with N-Acetyl-Carnosine based eye drops was still doing better than the control group at the two-year follow-up examinations.
How long does it take to reduce/remove cataracts using Cataract
Clear?
We cannot provide a definite answer unfortunately, even though we are aware that some other suppliers of similar eye drops do, as it depends upon
numerous factors such as how old the cataracts are, how well established and
how large they are, how old the person/pet with the cataracts is, their general
health etc etc
Some people/pets get results quickly, some might take several months,

Unlike taking an aspirin for a headache which then goes in an hour or so
