This is a DVD+R with 25 PDF scanned technical manuals from the Teletype Corporation covering the models 28, 33, and 35. There is a manual on the model 40 as well as some military teletype manuals. The venerable teletype was the backbone of military communications from the dawn of WWII through the rise of the computer industry through the 70's when CRT monitors took over. These were very complicated electro-mechanical devices with dozens of cams and special-stamped individual pieces. I spent many a happy (?) hour with the model 33 teletype, which was virtually the only way to communicate with the mainframe in the lab where I worked. According to Wikipedia, over 600,000 of the model 33 teletype were made. There were a bit of a maintenance nightmare, but when working, they worked well day after day. They were noisy. Really, really noisy. And slow (by modern standards).

These manuals were scanned at 300 lpi. Images were touched up with Photoshop and converted to PDF. There is a full-text index across all the manuals, so you can search for "synchronous motor" and find all the places where that string appears (403 instances across 26 files).
