At auction is a minimal vintage modernist blown glass paperweight, with an oval, football-like shape and internal suspended bubble; designed by Alfredo Barbini, Murano, Italy, circa ‘70s.

 

Measurements: The piece measures about 4 ½” long and stands about 2 ¾” tall.

 

Condition: The weight is in excellent used vintage condition, with no chips, cracks, repairs, or notable scratches.

 

Marks: The piece is signed near the polished pontil with engraved marks in script, ‘Barbini.’ The paperweight also retains some old stickers on the bottom, one reads, ‘MADE IN ITALY,’ and the other is a handwritten number.
