"The War of the Realms" is a 2019 comic book storyline published by Marvel Comics. The storyline has been met with positive reviews, with critics praising the storyline and the art.

The Agents of Atlas are a fictional superhero team appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The first lineup was composed of characters originally appearing in unrelated stories published in the 1950s. The characters debuted as a team in What If #9 (June 1978) and starred in the 2006 limited series Agents of Atlas, written by Jeff Parker and with art by Leonard Kirk.

In 2019, the team's lineup was revamped as a new team made up of Asian and Asian American superheroes as The New Agents of Atlas,  written by Greg Pak and art by Gang Hyuk Lim.

Greg Pak is an American comic book writer and film director. He is best known for his work on books published by Marvel Comics, including X-Men (most notably X-Treme X-Men), several titles featuring the Hulk (including Planet Hulk, which was one of the storylines eventually adapted into the film Thor: Ragnarok), and Hercules.

In 2019 Pak would help bring the characters Aero and Sword Master into the Marvel Universe proper, initially created in Chinese digital comics the previous year. He translated the original comics and wrote new stories for the year long Aero and Sword Master series. Pak also wrote a new series of Agents of Atlas comics, which would feature Aero and Sword-Master interacting with other young Marvel heroes, including Wave, White Fox and Amadeus Cho.

During the War of the Realms, Jimmy Woo recruited several of his teammates from the Asian American superhero team the Protectors as well as several new Asian superheroes to form The New Agents of Atlas to stop the Queen of Cinders invading the Asian continent. The current members consist of:

Lei Ling / Aero - Chinese heroine with wind-based powers.
Brawn - Korean-American former Hulk and supergenius.
Crescent and Io - South Korean heroine and her magical bear.
Seol Hee / Luna Snow - South Korean K-Pop idol with ice-based powers.
Shang-Chi - the Master of Kung-Fu.
Silk - Korean-American Spider-Man ally.
Sword Master - Chinese mystical sword-wielding hero.
Wave - Filipina water manipulator.
Ami Han / White Fox - South Korean super spy and the last of the kumiho.

Lin Lie  is a Chinese superhero originally appearing in web manhua and later American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by artist Gunji and writer Shuizhu, Lin first appeared in a Chinese digital series in May 2018 as Sword Master, a descendant of Fu Xi who wields the mystical Sword of Fu Xi.  Lin made his American comics debut in War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas #2 (May 2019), where he joined the Agents of Atlas. After losing his Sword in Death of Doctor Strange: White Fox #1, Lin Lie became the new Iron Fist in Iron Fist vol. 6 #1 (2022).
