Publication: London: Andre Deutsch, 1965

Description: [Travel book] FIRST EDITION, Second Impression. Octavo (24 x 16cm), pp.240, illustrated throughout with colour plates, map endpapers printed in colour. Publisher's russet cloth hardcover, gilt titles, top edge ochre, in photographic dust-jacket priced at 42s. Trivial wear to jacket, corner bumped; remains a fresh, bright copy. Novelist Ian Fleming discusses the island where, at his winter retreat named Goldeneye, he wrote one Bond novel a year from 1952/3-1964. Fleming's contribution, entitled 'Introducing Jamaica' had appeared in the Sunday Times in August 1965, so this is the first edition in book form. It was a lavish, expensive publication priced at 42s - Fleming's Bond novel that year (The Man With The Golden) originally sold at 18s.
